Luxor museum
The Luxor Museum is one of the most beautiful museums, housing many rare artifacts discovered in Luxor, such as statues of kings and gods, in addition to numerous items from various historical periods of Egyptian history. It includes 376 pieces of rare artifacts from several pharaonic families, all displayed with great precision and care according to chronological order, as well as a large number of pieces found in its storage and the gift shop at its entrance.
Among the museum’s most magnificent exhibits currently is a collection of artifacts that were part of King Tutankhamun’s tomb, as well as statues representing the New Kingdom era, discovered hidden near the Luxor Temple in 1989. You will also find the royal mummies of Pharaohs Ahmose I and Ramses I; they were added to the museum’s collection in March 2004 as part of the museum renovations, which included a visitor center and a major exhibition for the restoration of the walls of Akhenaten’s temple in Karnak.
