Overview

You will go on a full-day trip from Luxor to the Temple of Abydos (about 400 kilometres from Luxor) and the Temple of Dendera with a multilingual tour guide and Egyptologist to explore the most important Pharaonic temples dedicated to the pilgrimage rituals of ancient Egyptians. The Temple of Abydos, where you will see the burial place of the god Osiris, the god of the dead and the afterlife, is filled with secrets. Then, you will proceed to visit the Temple of Dendera, a Roman temple built on the ruins of a Pharaonic temple dedicated to the worship of Hathor, the goddess of beauty, motherhood, and protection. You will see the astronomical engravings in their original bright colours and constellations, and how the ancient Egyptians were skilled in astronomy.
